Hello everyone!
Here is additional information about my niece:
She was born at 9:59, on Thursday, October 9, 2003.
She measured 19 inches and a half, and weighed 6 pounds and 10 ounces. I
believe that translates to 49.53 cm and 3.18 kg in the metric system.
Bébé Ouellette's name is Célia Adèle-Ruth Ouellette
Célia is a short form for Cécile.
Also, in Célia, there is Lia, the name of her paternal great-aunt, Lia
Turbide, who was also born on an October 9.
The name Adèle comes from her paternal grand-mother, whose name is
Marie-Adèle (Turbide) Ouellette.
Ruth is the first name of her maternal grand-mother: Ruth (Bolton)
Hunter.
Célia has long fingers. Who knows? Perhaps guided by Sainte Cécile,
patron saint of musicians, she is destined to a great musical career.
For those of you who wonder about the mother's health, I can assure you,
for I talked to Andria yesterday, that she is doing very well. As a matter
of fact, yesterday, on October 14, Célia stepped outside the house for the
first time and went on her first visit with both her parents. She went to
the grocery store, the post office, the pharmacy, and the bank. Tomorrow,
Célia will already be celebrating her first week of life. What a joy!
Included is a photo of Célia, only an hour old. Do you see any
resemblances?
I already love my first niece and I can't wait to visit her, to take her
in my arms and to sing her a few lullabies. I might go this coming week-end
with my aunt Alice, who will be visiting and who will not have many other
occasions to go because of her age (she is already 80 years old), and
because of the distance (she lives in Rimouski, Québec). I will take
advantage of this visit to take a few pictures which I shall send to
you.

Voici quelques nouvelles supplémentaires au sujet de ma nièce :
Elle est née à 21h59, le jeudi 9 octobre 2003.
Elle mesurait 19,5 pouces et pesait 6 livres et 10 onces. En
unités métriques, je crois que cela donne : 49,53 cm
et 3,18 kg.
Bébé Ouellette a un nom : Célia Adèle-Ruth Ouellette
Célia est un diminutif du prénom Cécile.
Dans Célia, il y a Lia, le prénom de sa grande-tante paternelle,
Lia Turbide, née elle aussi un 9 octobre.
Adèle vient du prénom de sa grand-mère paternelle : Marie-Adèle
(Turbide) Ouellette.
Ruth est le prénom de sa grand-mère maternelle : Ruth (Bolton)
Hunter.
Célia a de longs doigts. On ne sait jamais, peut-être que guidée
par sainte Cécile, patronne des musiciens, elle se
destine au domaine musical.
Pour ceux qui s'interrogent au sujet de la santé de la maman, je
peux vous assurer, après lui avoir parlé hier,
qu'elle se porte très bien. D'ailleurs, hier, le 14 octobre, Célia
a effectué sa première sortie et sa première visite en
compagnie de ses parents. Elle est allée à l'épicerie, au bureau de
poste, à la pharmacie et à la banque. Demain,
Célia fêtera déjà sa première semaine de vie. Quelle joie! Je joins
une photo de Célia à peine âgée de quelques
heures. Voyez-vous des ressemblances?
J'aime déjà ma première nièce et j'ai bien hâte d'aller lui rendre
visite pour la prendre dans mes bras et lui chanter
quelques berceuses. Il se peut que j'effectue ce voyage en fin de
semaine avec ma tante Alice, qui sera de
passage et qui n'aura pas bien d'autres occasions de s'y rendre en
raison de son âge (elle a déjà 80 ans) et de la
distance (elle habite à Rimouski). J'en profiterai également pour
prendre des photos que je vous ferai parvenir.
