Defense Drill 7: D to D Outlet

Purpose

Quick breakout with both defense communicating.

Description

X1 dumps puck to either side.

Defense start out backwards, then pivot to retrieve puck.

Quick board pass to other D and board pass to X1.

X1 does give and go with coach.

Key Teaching Points

Head on swivel.

Read the pressure on 1st defense.

Use board, quick out.

Variations

• Add 1 or 2 forecheckers.
• Vary the pressure.
