Le hockey féminin en Norvège
Norway qualified to attend the first four IIHF Women's World Championships. Prior to 1999, to qualify to attend the World Championships, Norway had to finish in the top 5 teams at the European A Championship.
Starting in 1999, the World Championship has been divided into two pools. Norway took part in a World Championship qualification tournament in Switzerland in March 1998 to determine that Norway will compete in the Pool B World Championship in 1999.

The Valerengens Idrettsforening (VIF) team from Norway played in the Senior D division of the 1987 Brampton Canadettes' Dominion Ladies Hockey Tournament which is the world's largest annual women's tournament. They defeated Penetang-Midland, Ontario by a score of 7-5, but lost a close game to Philadelphia, USA 4-3.
VIH was a women's hockey / rinkbandy team from Oslo, Norway with all the team members being former ice hockey players. At that time, the senior women's ice hockey league no longer existed. Girls over the age of 18 played "rinkbandy" which, in short, is field hockey played on a hockey rink while on skates.
Norway finished fourth in the 1989 European Championship, losing a very close game to West Germany. This was the first-ever Women's European Championship. Norway has competed in all World Championships to date. Norway has qualified to compete in the Pool B World Championship in 1999.

In Norway there are two divisions in the eastern region.

Then the two best teams in the east region meet one team from Stavanger and one team from Trondheim, to play the unofficial Norwegian Championship. (There is just one women's team in Stavanger and one in Trondheim.)

I don't remember the points here, but I belive that VIF Hockey won all of their games here also.
Just one more thing, is that in the 6 or 7 years that the unofficial Norwegian Championship have taken place, Valerenga (or VIF Hockey if you wish) has won the championship every year.
