2000 Women's World Hockey Championship
Pool B
The 2000 Pool B Women's World Championship took place in Latvia from March 20-26, 2000. Kazakstan placed first, so they will move to the Pool A World Championship for 2001. Italy finished last, so they will move down to the qualification championship for 2001.
The top six teams from the A pool World Championship automatically qualify for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The top two teams in the B pool (Kazakstan and Switzerland) will play a qualification tournament against the bottom two teams from the A Pool World Championship to determine the final two teams for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The format of this championship was a round robin between Group A and Group B. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the medal round, while the bottom two teams went into the relegation round.
A round robin was played in the medal round and relegation round to determine the overall rankings of the teams.
