Summary

The OUA champion Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks blanked the McGill Martlets 2-0 in the first game of the CIAU women's ice hockey championship tournament. Laurier's Charmaine Boteju repelled all 20 Martlet shots, adding to the three shutouts she posted earlier this season.

Caroline Hill and Donna Forbes scored a goal apiece in their winning effort, both points scored in the second period.

McGill's Julie Hornsby and Laurier's Cheryl Pounder were both honoured as Players of the Game.

The tournament is being staged at the University of Toronto's Varsity Arena, and will continue until the CIAU women's championship game this Sunday.
