The San Jose Jr. Sharks Girls/Women's Hockey Club PROUDLY PRESENTS 7TH ANNUAL MLK TOURNAMENT Jan. 15*, 16, 17 & 18, 2010 San Jose, California USA Hockey Tournament Sanction Number to follow: Sanctioned USA Hockey Tournament – Six Girls' & Two Women’s Divisions 8U – 2001 & later 10U – 1999 & later 12U – 1997 & later 14U – 1995 & later 17U – 1992 & later 20U – 1989 & later Women’s Senior A/B - Canadian equivalent is AA/A Women’s Senior C - Canadian equivalent is B Format & Schedule: Format depends on number of teams in each division (4 games per team guaranteed). We are planning on 4 to 8 teams per division. Space is limited to 42 teams, so please apply early. A limited number of games will start Friday after 7:00pm* with the team's concurrence. All Championship games are on Monday, with the last game ending by 1:30pm. Games will be played at Sharks Ice at San Jose. Games: 3 - 15 minute stop periods using the 2 Referee system. Features include: 4 NHL size rinks with Stanley’s Sports Bar & Restaurant overlooking three rinks Team Awards for Champions MVP Prizes for each game Past MLK Tournaments have featured these teams from across the USA and Canada: USA AAA, AA & A clubs included Anaheim Lady Ducks, LA Selects, Alaska Firebirds, Alaska Icebreakers, Colorado Selects, Washington Wild, and San Jose Jr. Sharks. . . Canadian AAA, AA & A teams included the Tri-City Predators, Abbotsford, Vancouver Island Breakers, North Shore Avalanche, Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy . . . Women’s teams included San Jose Lady Sharks, Bay Area Tremors, Oakland Seals, Lady Northstars, Team Abby, Fog City Sirens, San Diego Heartbreakers, Pacific Selects . . . Registration Process: 1- Go to www.sjjrsharks.com and click on the 2010 MLK tournament logo to register your team. 2 - Entry fee must be received no later than Nov. 1, 2010. Teams are not confirmed entered on web page until entry fee has been received. 3 - Team roster must be completed online and digital team photo (5x7) to be submitted by email no later than Dec. 1, 2008. Out of town teams MUST stay at Tournament Host Hotels and BOOK thru SJCVB. All players and teams must be USA Hockey or HC registered. Cost: $1150US per team.
