The San Jose Jr. Sharks Girls/Women's Hockey Club PROUDLY PRESENTS 6th ANNUAL MLK INVITATIONAL Girls'/Women's Hockey Tournament Jan. 16, 17, 18 & 19, 2009 San Jose, California Sanctioned USA Hockey Tournament – Six Girls' & Two Women’s Divisions 8U – 2000 & later 10U – 1998 & later 12U – 1996 & later 14U – 1994 & later 17U – 1991 & later 20U – 1988 & later Senior A/B and Senior C (USA) equivalent to Senior AA/A and Senior B (Canada) Format & Schedule: (4 games per team guaranteed). We are planning on 4 to 8 teams per division. Space is limited to 42 teams, so please apply early. A limited number of games will start Friday after 4:00pm with team's concurrence. All Championship games are on Monday, with the last game ending by 1:30pm. Games will be played at Sharks Ice at San Jose. Games: 3 - 15 minutes stop periods using the 2 Referee system. Features include: 4 NHL size rinks with Stanley's Sports Bar & Restaurant Team Awards for Champions MVP Prizes for each game 2008 MLK Tournament featured 41 teams from across the US and Canada: • USA “AAA” & “AA” Girls' clubs included Anaheim Lady Ducks, Arizona Selects, Cal Selects, Colorado Select, Team Pittsburgh, Phoenix Lady Coyotes, San Diego Lady Saints, Washington Wild, Colorado Springs and San Jose Jr. Sharks. • Canadian “AAA” & “AA” Girls' teams included the Langley, Vancouver Fusion, Fraser Valley Phantom and Richmond Devils. • Women’s teams included Kamloops, San Diego Heartbreakers, San Jose Lady Sharks, Bay Area Tremors, Oakland Seals, Fog City Sirens and PD Selects. Registration Process: All information including committed/interested teams, online registration, tournament hotels, contact info and flyer can be found under the MLK tournament icon at www.sjjrsharks.com All teams must be USA Hockey or HC registered. Entry fee must be received no later than October 15th. Teams are not confirmed entered until entry fees and registration have been completed. Team roster must be completed online and digital team photo (5x7) to be submitted by email no later than Dec. 1st. Cost: $1150US per team.
