Tournament Information

The Charlotte Storm and the Extreme Ice Center present "The Queen City Challenge" women's ice hockey tournament.  It will take place January 19 - 20, 2008 which is the MLK weekend.  It is a six team tournament.  There is a three game minimum with a possiblity of four games (includes championship game and consolation game).  Four out of the six teams will get four games.  There are three 17-minute stop clock periods.  The entry fee is $725.00 and is open to women's division "C", though "D" and "35+" teams are also welcome.  There will be team and individual awards.  USA Hockey sanctioned this tournament and their rules apply.  The link for the Extreme Ice center is:  http://www.xicenter.com/

We are asking all interested teams contact Dawn Minion, our treasurer, at minion@pizzaandmore.com to submit/work out payment of $150.00 due by 11/21 to commit to come to play, with the remaining balance due to her by 12/31.  She can accept cash, checks, VISA, and Mastercard.  If a check is written, she asks for it to be made out to CWHA (Charlotte Women's Hockey Association).  
 
Hotel Information:  The Comfort Inn near 485.  It's $74.00/night.  The contact person is Michelle Baca.  She said that she opened up that rate for 1/18/08 and 1/19/08 for those who want to come Friday night.  She can hold that rate until 12/19.  She just asks that the team manager or representative call her at 704-845-5911 to reserve rooms for "The Queen City Challenge" and state how many rooms are needed.  She also said that there would be a full hot breakfast each morning.
