Tournament Information

Our 5th Annual "Fire on Ice" Girls U19 Hockey Tournament is scheduled
for March 16, 17 and 18, 2007 in Hayward, Wisconsin at the Hayward Sports
Center.  We are planning on 16 teams, 3 guaranteed games each.  There are
2 brackets 8 teams elite and 8 teams A/B.  It is an awesome tournament,
with many special features.  After each game there is a shoot-out
competition, where each team earns points and each goalie earns points.
Many times it works out that the teams who do not take home a trophy have
a chance at the other awards, it adds some real fun to the tournament.

*Our Goal is to provide a professional event for girls, who might not
get an opportunity like this any where else.

*Our Purpose is to promote health, fitness, sports"woman"ship, self
esteem and camaraderie with girls from other rural areas.

We also want the girls to meet off the ice, so we hold a "Girls Night
Out" on Saturday night.  The last 3 years it was at our Vet's Center
and we had a DJ.  The year prior we had a band at a hotel meeting room.
We had lots of snacks and fun.  This is for the girls, coaches and
families.  If this is a weekend that you think you are interested in,
please let Sharon Paine at the Sports Center know as soon as possible.
Since spaces are limited, registration is on a first come first serve
basis.  We filled up our tournament with 16 teams last couple of years
and have had several other teams on a waiting list.  The cost is $500.00
per team and we must receive registration and full payment in order to
hold a space for the tournament.   Due to past experience and the number
of teams wanting to get in the tournament, we can make no exceptions to
this rule for the Girls U19 tournament.
