We invite you to participate in the first annual Ithaca Shooting Stars Invitational Tournament in Ithaca, New York, Friday December 2 through Sunday December 4, 2005. After five years of hosting tournaments under the Silver Stick name, Tompkins Girls Hockey Association is prepared to independently offer you a high quality tournament experience. The tournament which will be based at The RINK on East Shore Drive in Lansing just north of Ithaca is for teams in the 12U, 14U, 16U and 19U age brackets. We anticipate that most teams will be competitive at the NYS Tier 2 level. If you are from another state or from Canada, we can gauge if you will fit well in the field which draws teams from throughout this state as well as some from the outside the state. Please register at your earliest convenience or by October 15 at the latest. The team fee for this invitational tournament is $600 for 19U, 16U and 14U; 12U division is $550. All teams are guaranteed three games minimum. 19U, 16U, and 14U teams will play three 15-minute stop periods; 12U will play three 12-minute periods. Attached is the tournament application form Hotel information is found at the bottom of this message. Tournament rules, and other information will be updated next week on our web site: www.ithacagirlshockey.com. If you do not yet know the roster for this season's team, you may submit that at a later time preferrably in electronic format. In fact please send as much as you can send by email which will help with creation of the tournament program which usually features team photos. Please send the tournament registration fee, payable to Tompkins Girls Hockey Association, to my attention at the address at the end of this letter. Ithaca is located one hour south of Syracuse and one hour north of Binghamton and less than 30 miles from Rt. 81. The community has many resources for visitors to enjoy--parks featuring waterfalls and gorges, two colleges, museums including the popular Sciencenter, shopping, movies, restaurants, and cultural events. Our purpose is to have a fun and competitive tournament of teams at an even level. We will consider all applications to try to ensure that teams are matched up as closely as possible. The nights booked are Dec. 2-3rd at $89.95/night. Teams need to make reservations before November 2nd to get this rate.
