To: All women hockey players 40 and up.

 

                                  Re: 30th Annual Snoopy's World Hockey Tournament 2005

 

We are looking for women players 40 years old and up for the 1st Annual Peppermint Patty Division at the 30th Annual Snoopy's World Hockey Tournament in Santa Rosa, California.  (Santa Rosa is 50 miles north of San Francisco).  July 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and/or 24 (We expect to have a 3 or 4 day slot for the women's division within these days). 

 

Just a little bit of history on why we are pursing this event.  In 2003 Mia Bosquet of the Tri Cities Brew Crew contacted me to help contact the Snoopy tournament to start a Women's Division.  She named it the "Peppermint Patty" division.  I contacted the tournament coordinator, Nancy Bice last year to see if we could get it going for 2004.  It was too late to have one for the summer of 2004.  Just before Christmas I contacted Nancy and asked to have one this year.  She said if we get 4 teams committed she would help work on getting us some time during this time.  This would be a nice event for those of you who have husbands that play hockey also.

 

Here are some of the requirements we need to make this event happen for us WOMEN!

 

I, April Taylor have taken on to be the liaison to Snoopy Tournament director Nancy Bice.  

  
4 teams needed (I have a long list of names of those who are interested in going) 

As of 1/24/05 I have 32 names of people interested.  They are from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Southern California 

Note: If you are 39 and will be 40 in 2005 you will be able to play. 

  
4 team captains for each of the teams.  They will be responsible to collect funds from teams and give the information to April Taylor names of players on your team.  If you are interested call by January 31, 2005. 

  
Cost per team: $1,300.00 (US funds) with $400.00 non refundable deposit due by February 15, 2005 accompanied with team entry form.  Fee is payable by check or credit card to Snoopy's Home Ice.  Balance due by March 15. (If we have 10 players per team it would cost each player $130.00 or 15 players it would be about $87.00). 

  
Hotels are available. Tentative reservations should be made early due to limited hotel/motel. 

  
Camping- there are 6 spaces for RV's at the Ice Arena Parking lot on a first come first serve basis.  NO RESERVATIONS. There also some vacation rental homes available. 

  
By Air San Francisco and/or Oakland airports are destination points.
