Due to the struggle for prime time ice during the season Hockey Programs lack thinking concepts and skill development. The Program is designed to improve individual skill development through progressive teaching with game concepts and timing. The cost for this program is $300.00 for the one-week camp. This includes five hours on-ice and 1.5 hours off-ice daily. Each participant will receive a Capital Raiders Jersey and a report card. Space is limited to 30 skaters per program to maintain a 1:6 instructor to student ratio. Goaltenders program includes four hours on-ice and two hours off- ice. The cost for Goaltenders is $300.00 for the week and space is limited to 6 per group. Six hours a day on ice will be used to teach all the necessary skills used in scoring. Each day the athletes will be taught new skills in the first half of the program and they will combine these skills and use them in game like situations in the second half of the program. The focus of these drills will be on thinking and timing to improve the players knowledge of the game. There will be an emphasis on motor learning and muscle memory in order to establish perfectly executed puck skills such as the following- All Shots, Wrist, Snap, Backhand and Slap Wrist Control Shooting Grips One Timers Shooting off a Pass Slap Shot - Quick Release, Accuracy and Power Flip Shot - In tight Shooting off Wrong foot- off crossover, power turns, wraps Improving Angle - Pull in, stretch, Switch Wrap Arounds - Power Turn Quick Shots and Release Time Dekes and Fake Shots These Skills will then be combined and practiced in game like drills that will teach Tactical Skills such as- Deflections- Triangle, in the air, up high Rebound Lane - Off Post techniques Optimal Position vs. Relative Position Right Time Right Place Concepts Lateral movement Through Slot The cost for this program is $350.00 for the one-week camp.
