INTRODUCTION The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), and Canadian Hockey Inline (CHI) are proud to present the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL and the IIHF World Youth Inline Hockey Challenge. Inline hockey teams from around the world are invited to participate in this world class event. All levels of International competition will be represented and a Pool “A” / “B” and “C” Championship will be contested. The community of Kitchener / Waterloo and Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA, site of the 1997, Women’s World Ice Hockey Championships will be playing host to this world class event. The community and event organizing committee will be working hard to make the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL and the IIHF World Youth Inline Hockey Challenge the benchmark for all future International inline hockey event. IIHF WORLD YOUTH & World Women's INLINE HOCKEY CHALLENGE The IIHF World Youth Inline Hockey Challenge is the Premier event of GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL and will feature five (5) of Canada’s Regional teams (Ontario / Central Canada / Eastern Canada / Western Canada / Pacific Canada) / Four (4) of USA Hockey Inline’s Regional teams ( Southern USA / Eastern USA / Central USA / Western USA) for each of the Under 20 / Under 18 / Under 16 divisions. The remainder of the seven (7) teams per division will be comprised of International teams registered with the IIHF. Countries are accepted on an Invitation only basis. CAN / AM CUP The CAN / AM CUP is being hosted as part of the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL to enable grass roots inline hockey players from across Canada, the USA and abroad to travel and compete at this unique International event. The CAN / AM CUP will be open to all registered (National Associations) club teams from across Canada, the USA and abroad and is open to all International teams competing in the IHF World Youth Inline Challenge. The event will also be used to promote inline hockey within the host associations (CHI / USA Hockey Inline) membership. The teams will have the opportunity to compete in great facilities, on regulation inline hockey surface with high caliber referees. INTERNATIONAL ELITE TEAM CAMP (Under 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 ) The Elite Team Camp is being held in conjunction with the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL to allow the teams’ of the representative Nations participating in the IIHF World Youth Inline Hockey Challenge to train and prepare for the tournament during the days leading to the event. Many of the top USA, Canadian and International coaches will be on hand throughout the camp to work with the athletes and teams competing in the IIHF World Youth Inline Hockey Challenge. DEVELOPMENT SKILLS CAMP (Under 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 ) The skills camp is open to individuals and teams from across Canada, the USA and around the world who want to increase their inline hockey knowledge and ability. The skills camp is being developed to offer individuals and teams at the grass root level the opportunity to be coached and taught skills from the leaders in the sport of Inline hockey around the world. A limited number of spots (150 across all five divisions) are available for the skills camp. The skills camp is being administered in conjunction with the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL and will be coordinated by Canadian Hockey Inline and USA Hockey Inline. COACHES CLINIC The Coaches Clinic will be open to coaches throughout Canada, the USA and abroad. The clinic will focus on developing the future leaders of the sport. The coaches clinic is being administered in conjunction with the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL and will be coordinated by Canadian Hockey Inline, USA Hockey Inline and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). REFEREES CAMP The Referees Camp will be open to referees throughout Canada, the USA and abroad. The clinic will focus on developing the level of officiating and the development of the promotion of the rules of Inline Hockey around the world. The Referees Camp is being administered in conjunction with the GLOBAL INLINE HOCKEY FESTIVAL and will be coordinated by Canadian Hockey Inline USA Hockey Inline and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
