1996 Esso Canadian National Championship

Monction, NB, March 21-24, 1996


The 1996 Canadian National Championship was held in Monction, New Brunswick from March 21-24, 1996. There were nine different provinces represented at this year's Esso Women's National Championship. Each province sends either an all-star team, or the team that wins the provincial championship for the highest level of women's hockey within that province. Team Quebec is the 1996 Champion!

For the 1996 Esso Women's National Championship, the provinces were divided into two groups, with Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and Quebec in Pool A, and New Brunswick, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan in Pool B. The standings after the round-robin play and the results of all games are shown below.

The gold game was broadcasted live on The Sports Network (TSN) and Le Reseau des Sports (RDS), Sunday, March 24, 1996 at 12:00 noon (EST).
