I am writing to let you know that my daughter (Christine - 15 years old) plays in the Tasmanian Junior (Under 17) Competition. She is one of three girls that played in the competition in 1996. She as do the other girls play for the Eagles which ultimately won the premiership this year. Christine scored one goal and one assist in the grand final which by the way was only her third game. She has followed her brother into the sport. The sides in the Tasmanian competition in order of finishing are as follows: Seniors: Premiers: Hawks (This side comprised 2 players from Canada) Runners Up: Red Barrons Third: Blackhawks Last: Mad Cows Juniors: Premiers: Eagles Runners Up: Hawks Last: Knights (First season in the competition - My son Leighton (13 years old) plays for this side - his first season) Leighton was the highest points scorer for his side as follows: (Games Played:15, Goals:17, Assists:8) Unless you don't already know Tasmania is an island state of Australia. There are no women's ice hockey teams in Tasmania and the three girls who play for the Eagles are the only female players in the state. Regards Robert Cockerell. P.S. Christine has been inspired by your career information and my son Leighton is very impressed. -----------------
