1996 Canadian National Championship

This information was provided by the Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA):

The Toronto Red Wings became the first Women's team to repeat as National Women's champions as they knocked off the Richmond Vikings (BC) 2-1 in the gold medal game. This was the 4th time in a row these 2 teams met in the finals, and the Red Wings won 3 of the 4 meetings. The Red Wings went 4-0-0 in the round-robin, and edged the Saint John Mooseheads (NB) 2-0 in the semi-final. The Vikings struggled in the round-robin, as they were 1-1-2, finishing 5th. They beat the Montreal Maroons 2-1 in the quarter-final, and shut out the Calgary Snafu 2-0 in the semi-final. The Women's bronze medal went to the Calgary Snafu, who beat New Brunswick 4-2 to claim their 3rd straight bronze at the Canadian Nationals.
