Christmas 2015

Hi Everyone!

We would like to start off by wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, as well as a Happy New Year for 2016!  Our year was quite busy... as usual!

Camille (age 5, senior kindergarten) and Rémy (age 8, grade 3) go to the Sainte-Marguerite-d'Youville French school. Célia (already 12!) switched to a new school this year, and is now in grade 7 at Saint-Frère-André.

During the March break, Célia had her first airplane ride, as she went to Cuba for a week with her grandparents and her Aunt Leslie's family, while Andria took Rémy and Camille downhill skiing for the first time - they loved it! In May, Rémy did his first communion.

The kids all attended a summer camp -- Célia and Rémy went to Camp Quin-Mo-Lac, while Camille went to "Camp Grandma." They also spent quite a bit of time at the Hunter cottage, participated in the Lakefield Fair, and went camping with Andria & a group of moms. Célia spent a week in Kapuskasing with her godmother (Pauline, Marc's sister), and then we made the 900 km trek to join her for a week.

In terms of activities, Camille is now in her 2nd year of hockey with the Mimico Canadiens, and scored her first goal this Fall. She was quite proud, and slept with the game puck! She also does swimming and gymnastics. Rémy is now in his 4th year of hockey with the Mimico Canadiens, and averages an hour on the ice a day. Rémy also takes swimming lessons and plays soccer in the Summer. As for Célia, she does drawing, swimming, and gymnastics, and enjoys her Girl Guide meetings. We also recently learned that in addition to having ADHD, Célia is Autistic (although very high functioning). This diagnosis helps to get the assistance she needs.

Rémy and Marc are still taking guitar lessons, and participated in a "circle of song" with some of their fellow students with their guitar instructor. Marc is also learning some French songs via Skype, with a teacher in Québec City. Marc still really enjoys his work with Autodesk, where he has now been for 15 years!

As for Mommy, she is really enjoying playing hockey with a great group of guys who play weekday mornings! In February, she received an honour in Keene, the town where she played hockey in her youth, as they raised a banner celebrating her career. Andria is also still an assistant coach for Camille's team.

Noël 2015

Bonjour à tous!

Nous aimerions tout d'abord souhaiter à tous nos meilleurs vœux pour un très Joyeux Noël, ainsi qu'une Bonne, Heureuse et Sainte Année 2016! Cette année fut passablement achalandée ... comme d'habitude!

Camille (5 ans, jardin) et Rémy (8 ans, 3ème année) vont toujours à l'école Sainte-Marguerite-d'Youville. Célia (12 ans, déjà!) est maintenant en 7ème année, et a donc dû changer d'école - elle va maintenant à Saint-Frère-André.

Au congé de mars, Célia a fait son premier voyage en avion, car elle est allée passer une semaine à Cuba avec ses grand-parents et la famille de tante Leslie, et ici, Andria en a profité pour amener Camille et Rémy skier pour la 1ère fois - ils ont bien aimé ça! Au mois de mai, Raymonde et Marcel, marraine et parrain de Rémy, et cousin Benoît, sont venus pour la première communion de Rémy.

Les enfants ont tous fait des camps de vacance cet été - Célia et Rémy au camp Quin-Mo-Lac, et Camille au camp Grandma:-) Ils ont de nouveau passé beaucoup de temps au chalet des Hunter, participé à la foire de Lakefield, Ontario, et fait du camping avec Andria et quelques autres mamans. Célia est allée passer une semaine à Kapuskasing avec sa marraine (Pauline, la sœur de Marc), et nous avons fait 900 km de route pour aller la rejoindre et passer une semaine chez tante Pauline.

Côté activités, Camille en est à sa 2ème année de hockey avec les Canadiens de Mimico, et a compté son 1er but cet automne! Elle en était très fière, et a même dormi avec la rondelle! Elle fait aussi de la natation et de la gymnastique. Rémy en est maintenant à sa 4ème année de hockey, aussi avec Mimico, et passe en moyenne une heure par jour à jouer au hockey! Il fait lui aussi de la natation, et joue au soccer l`été. Quant à Célia, elle fait du dessin, de la natation, de la gymnastique, et aime toujours ses rencontres de Guides.. Nous avons récemment appris qu'en plus de souffrir d'ADHD, Célia est autistique, de niveau fonctionnel très élevé. Ce diagnostic l'aidera à recevoir tout l'appui dont elle a besoin.

Rémy et Marc continuent leurs leçons de guitare, et ont participé à un "cercle de chanson" avec les autres étudiants de leur enseignante. Marc apprend aussi des chansons en français par le biais de Skype, avec un instructeur à Québec. Côté boulot, il aime toujours bien son travail avec Autodesk, et ça fait maintenant 15 ans qu'il y travaille!

Quant à maman, elle aime bien jouer au hockey avec des joueurs bien sympas en matinée le mardi! Elle a reçu un hommage de la ville où elle a joué au hockey dans sa jeunesse (Keene), où l'on a hissé une bannière en son honneur! Andria est de nouveau entraîneuse-adjointe avec l'équipe de Camille.
